Sabrina truly is the Julie of the witching world.

by Anonymousreply 12June 8, 2022 11:34 PM

I assume he finds witches satanic and spray painted her red to highlight that fact.

by Anonymousreply 13June 8, 2022 11:39 PM

Although the homeless man who did the deed hasn't provided a motive, this story says some people in town resent the statue because they believe it trivializes the innocent women who were executed during the witch trials.

I personally find the paint an improvement.

What a hideous unlikeness of Liz Montgomery.

by Anonymousreply 15June 9, 2022 12:06 AM

R14 Not really.

If there are people who are passionate about that, they don’t realize it was the Salem episode of “Bewitched” that started interest in people visiting there. I think the episode aired in 1969 and Laurie Cabot’s witch shop opened in 1970 and the Salem Witch Museum opened up in 1974.

Salem residents hate the tourism but the tourism is the how the city makes its money. Downtown Salem is like, I don’t know, a mile long and once you start going further away from that area, it gets uglier and shittier.

And the homeless population is really bad. It wouldn’t be that hard to find a dirty needle outside.

Salem wants to be like Newburyport and Martha’s Vineyard or Marblehead but with the homeless and low income areas, it’s just not lol. And all the crazies work downtown.

And the Woke Generation hates Salem because they know that their 21st century moral outrage is so very similar to Salem's 17th century moral outrage.

Ask Gladys Kravitz. You know that nosy bitch saw who did it.

by Anonymousreply 18June 9, 2022 12:50 AM

I suspect that Durwood is to blame.

It's almost as ugly as this.

If ever a statue needed vandalizing

No doubt, it was vandalized by an art critic.

by Anonymousreply 22June 9, 2022 3:08 AM

I've thought all the Nick at Nite statues have been disasters. The MTM statue in downtown Minneapolis is similarly hideous and doesn't look like her.

Oh, my stars and garters!

This is an abomination unto Our Lady the Moon and the Office of Tourism, you dumb cunts.

Why is Shelley Hack throwing her hat in the air?

Most current sculptors are incompetent failures.

This one was slander.

They should have that great woman sculptor who re-did the Lucille Ball statue in Jamestown to re-do all the awful Nick at Nite statues.

Salem was never the same after Will left.

by Anonymousreply 29June 9, 2022 6:20 AM

Well, it looks like the Bewitched statue is now bothered and bewildered.

by Anonymousreply 31June 9, 2022 8:42 AM

It's just Uncle Arthur having a gay old time with one of his silly pranks.

by Anonymousreply 32June 9, 2022 8:47 AM

R32 It would have been pink paint then.

by Anonymousreply 33June 9, 2022 8:51 AM

Red. I might have known it would be red.
