  1. He was 17 years old when he joined the United States Merchant Marine in the last months of World War II.
  2. He supported Barry Goldwater in the 1964 United States presidential election.
  3. In 1997, Clint Walker received the Golden Boot Award.
  4. He narrowly escaped death in a freak skiing accident in May 1971 at Mammoth Mountain, California as the tip of a ski pole pierced his heart. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead but a doctor detected faint signs of life and rushed him to surgery. Walker received the required treatment and was back at work within 2 months of the accident. He himself described the accident as a near-death experience.
  5. Throughout his life, he did various jobs including working at a factory, on a riverboat, as a doorman at the Sands Hotel, as a sheet metal worker, and as a nightclub bouncer. He also did odd jobs in Brownwood, Texas; Long Beach, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
  6. Clint Walker was a pesce pollotarian and stated, “we don’t eat beef, but we eat chicken and salmon.”
  7. He was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2004.
